My Kim Kardashian Wedding Predictions vs Reality

The American ‘Royal Wedding’ has come and gone. Yes, I’m referring to Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding held this past weekend. In March, I made some wedding predictions for the OK March issue and today, I want to check off on what did become a reality for the reality starlet. The bride wore three custom made gowns, one for the ceremony and two for the reception designed by Vera Wang like her sister before her. The groom wore a white lapel tuxedo jacket, shirt and bow tie with black pants all by my all time favorite designer, Ermenegildo Zegna.

When celebrities wed, everyone wants in on the details so, let us review what was Montecito, California’s weekend highlight. I will not hesitate to brag and make a public service announcement that my first prediction was dead on point. Celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck was the desired caterer who catered to 450 close friends and family at a lavish estate in southern California.

I did state that her wedding would be an elegant and expensive affair in the hues of silver, cream, white and black. Call me Moses because, that is exactly what was! It is reported that the couple could have coughed up to $17 million for their grand affair. We now know that much of the expense was reversed by enormous revenues due to selling the rights to stories and video with such giants as E!, OK and People. To jumpstart the breakdown of the lavish affair planned by celebrity wedding planner, Sharon Sacks, I would like to mention that I had a chance to personally speak with Kim’s manicurist, Margaux Segal of Margaux European Hair Stylist in Beverly Hills.

She was gracious enough to share some details on Kim’s four hour manicure. “Kim looked casually chic and was elated to be marrying Kris. She is a beautiful and humble lady who exudes class and might I add, extremely generous”.  Kim had a french manicure and was accompanied by a younger girl who may have been a friend”. Now, for the long awaited breakdown of the the gorgeous Kardashian’s wedding.

The invitation: was designed by Lehr & Black who also designed invites for her sister, Khloe & her husband Lamar Odom as well as other celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. It is said it was embellished with hundreds of jet black hematite crystals. K-squared’s thirty minute Christian ceremony was officiated by Humphries family pastor, Joel Johnson.

The bridesmaids: In true Kardashian fashion, it was a family affair. Sisters, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie graced their sister’s side and wore mermaid-style gowns with tulle skirts, designed by none other than Vera Wang.

The cake: Hansen Cakes created a six-foot tall, multi-tiered chocolate and vanilla swirl cake studded with chocolate chips. I love Hansen. They did my book replica cake when I was on the tour in LA. It was spectacular. No surprise that Kim went there for her confection!

The Menu: Dinner, catered by the renowned celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck and included, Santa Barbara heirloom tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella, tomato chips, basil and salad leaves followed by a choice of hand-formed agnolotti pasta with sweet corn mascarpone and summer truffles or, roasted chicken with Yukon Gold potato puree, caramelized brussel sprouts, summer truffles and rosemary. Yum! For late night snacks they grazed upon OMG Pop Cookies, Bear Lime Cheesecake Pops with Spiced Graham Crackers, Mini Blueberry Financiers, Miniature Grilled Cheese (edges cut off) with Tomato Soup, Crispy Mac n’ Cheese Bites, Mini Waffles with Vermont Maple Syrup, Paper Cones of Idaho Fat Fries with Truffle Aioli, Chocolate Chip Cookie Lollipops with Shots of Iced Cold Milk, Tangerine and Lavender Cotton Candy, and Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches

The starlet’s big day was a sight to behold for it was inspired by Old Hollywood romance and glam! I did not expect anything short of fabulousness from this oh-so-fabulous beauty!
