Gate crashing the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss.Catherine Middleton’s wedding will not be an option. Duplicating these gold embossed invitations which might I add, are of course stamped with the Queen’s insignia, may prove to be a challenge. Besides, the invites have already been sent to the 1900 guests.
So, you are not on the guest list but, I can tell you who is. What would the wedding be without the Beckaham’s? Dare I say, starved for great style? According to abcNEWS/International, Sir Elton John, Prince Harry’s on-and-off Zimbabwean girlfriend Chelsy Davy, Kate Middleton’s ex-boyfriend, Rupert Finch and William’s first love, Jecca Craig are among the listed guests. I guess there won’t be a shortage of exes along with distinguished royals and Prime Ministers from around the globe.
The question still remains, who will design Kate’s wedding dress? It is every designer’s dream to have the high honor of designing an A-lister’s dress but, to design the dress of a soon to be royal, priceless! Considering this is the year of the vintage inspired look as it relates to weddings, I think it would be interesting to have Princess Diana’s wedding dress designer, create a modern take on the same frock. Welsh designer, David Emanuel and his wife Elizabeth were privileged enough to design Lady Di’s dress for her 1981 wedding.
Kate may not opt to wear 275 yards of pearl-studded silk taffeta, tulle and netting as did Princess Diana but, if it were up to Elizabeth Emanuel to design Kate’s dress, this is what she said she would do. Per dailymail.co.uk the designer said she would keep it elegant and simple. She would make an off-white silk, sleeves dress with a silk organza draped over the shoulders to cover the top half and add a brooch. That definitely sounds elegant, yet youthful! For those of you scratching your heads and trying to visualize the dress, below is Elizabeth Emanuel’s sketch of the dress she envisions for the soon to be Princess Kate.
