How grand would it be to literally walk in Kate’s shoes for a day, more specifically, on her wedding day? Gone are the days when brides wore satin shoes that perfectly matched their dresses and perhaps, their decor. Today’s woman, never mind bride, spares no expense on her leg wear and Kate is no exception. As we speculate away, several renowned shoe designers sketched away what they think the princess-to-be should wear on her big day. Fairy godmothers in the form of designers, are waving their wands while the rest of the world prays that Kate won’t lose her slipper. One can only imagine the options available to a bride of her stature.

Hungry for more? Queen Elizabeth is said to be hosting 600 people for breakfast at Buckingham Palace after the ceremony. As for what guests will be served, remains a mystery. Former Senior Chef at Buckingham Palace, Darren McGrady, predicts the breakfast menu will include, champagne, canapes and heavy hors d’oeuvres which may include smoke salmon, pate and mini sausage rolls. The chef predicts the reported 300 dinner guests, hosted by Prince Charles, can expect to see Gaelic steaks with braised rice or maybe even cottage pie, an English ‘favourite’.
Sylvia Weinstock’s masterpieces may not be featured on the royal cake table for dessert because, the couple are planning on serving fruit cake, another English fave. While the average American may suffer from an overdose of raisins, the English on the other hand, seem to understand and appreciate this dessert. Princess Diana’s wedding cake that stood at five feet tall was prepared by baker, David Avery and, wait for it, you guessed it, it was a fruit cake. I’m thinking you may not have received an invite to the princess’ 1981 wedding therefore, should you find yourself twiddling your thumbs, put yourself to use and follow this link to view Princess Diana’s wedding cake recipe and maybe DIY: http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/29.PrincessDianasWeddingCake65057.shtml. Will we see yet another five tiered cake, 25 foot long train or an open carriage ride around London town? Will my cat Dante want in on a piece of the April 29 festivities? Will Justin Bieber marry Selena Gomez? What I do know is that on April 30, 2011, I’ll have more details about The Royal Affair! In the meantime, an official Royal Wedding Website has been launched for your personal viewing pleasure officialroyalwedding2011. Enjoy.
