Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final book of Stephenie Meyer’s best selling hit series. However, with the fourth book so jammed packed with excitement, Summit Entertainment decided to split the final book in half. Breaking Dawn Part 1 focuses heavily on Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen’s (Robert Pattinson) wedding. After everything the two have been through (vampires wanting to kill her, other vampires trying to kill him, you get the point), Edward proposed and Bella said yes. Since then we here at Donnie Brown Weddings & Events have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the wedding. With the Cullen’s fortunes we knew this affair would be one to remember and it didn’t disappoint. We only hope this gorgeous event will heavily influence 2012’s wedding trends.

Known for her signature style, crisp white popped-collar shirts, Carolina Herrera remains a force to be reckoned with in the style arena. By now, it is no secret that this innovative, Venezuelan born designer, designed Bella Swan’s wedding dress for the movie, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. This designer has won the role of staying relevant which is vital to ones success in this day and age where options are not rationed. Herrera, seen posing with the dress, says the inspiration for the dress was “from the 20’s but, for now. It’s all about a wedding gown, with simple lines, with one extravagant detail, in the back of the dress which at the same time is a little bit traditional. It’s really seductive. It had to be precise, going very much with the whole story of the film”, she said. And that she did, Herrera’s gown was perfect for Kristen Stewart’s character Bella Swan who marries her vampire man, Edward. Bella’s character is an old soul and would look out of place in today’s strapless mermaid.

The dress was a $35,000 vintage-esque crepe satin gown, which featured a demure front but, a sexy back. Although the dress was the focus, Carolina collaborated with shoe legend Manolo Blahnik to craft the custom-made jewel-encrusted satin pumps, set to hit stores next year.
