A Thousand Words

A Thousand Words

I thought you might appreciate a quick history lesson.  Today’s lesson is; photography.  Nicephore Niepce was a French inventor who is best known for producing the world’s first known photograph in 1825.  I know you may be scratching your head and thinking Annie Leibovitz must have had a hand in this wonderful invention but, as amazing as her work is, that is not the case.  They say a picture says a thousand words so, when I came across this beautiful picture from one of the countless weddings I’ve produced, a thousand words came to mind.

Photography is an integral part of any event be it the birth of a child, a graduation ceremony or of course, your wedding day.  From the inspiration board, where it all begins, to the finished product, all must be captured accordingly.  How else can one freeze a moment in time except through photography?  After my outstanding team facilitated in bringing this bride’s vision to life, the photographer went to work and captured breathtaking images.  Usually the bride and groom and, guests alike, are too excited to carefully take in the vast number of details in all their splendor.  Only after the petals have dried, and family and friends are looking through albums, do they notice the pomander balls of orchids hanging from the ceiling.

Of all the days in your life, your wedding day should represent nothing short of greatness.  Every moment should be captured so as to be able to cherish the memories forever.  The power of great photography MUST evoke powerful emotions in all who pleasure in seeing it.  As I looked at the above image, I was reminded of the journey that led to the smile on my face.  What wonders the right photographer can do!  After all that babbling, I say this; when shopping for your wedding day photographer, be sure to thoroughly inquire about their experience, qualifications and of course, review their work.  Your big day is not a rehearsal so, why invest in a photographer who merely wants you to be their guinea pig?
